Realize the value of your emotional guidance system.

How often do you try to ignore your emotions or tell yourself to stop feeling a certain way (as if you could control your feelings)?  Your Emotions are not meant to be buried and ignored!

Your life is being created by your vibrational atmosphere which is created by your mood (your thoughts and emotions).  As you think, you feel, and as you feel, you radiate energy which is also called your vibration.  Your vibration is what attracts circumstances, people, and events to you.

Your emotions are you guidance system offering you information about the balance of your thoughts.  They let you know whether you're focused and flowing energy toward what you want or focused in opposition and flowing energy away from what you want.  Negative emotion means you're focused in opposition to what you want.

Our emotions are the link between our conscious and unconscious mind in that they let you know what you’re thinking when you aren’t even aware of your thoughts.  We run so much of our lives on autopilot, and we often just live with negative emotions because we aren’t aware or sensitive enough to them.  We’ve trained ourselves to ignore our emotional guidance system.  We can't always be aware of our thoughts, but we can begin to become more aware of our emotions because we feel them in our bodies.

Our minds label our emotions as good or bad, but really they are neither.  They are sensations in our bodies or in our minds, and no sensations are really good or bad.  If something doesn’t feel good we label it as bad.  We try to get rid of it and don’t want to feel it or notice why it is there or where it’s coming from.

Rather than judging your emotions and trying to avoid them, choose to acknowledge them by letting yourself feel whatever it is you’re feeling.  We can’t really control our emotions, but we can learn to be mindful and aware of our emotions and thoughts.  When you name an emotion happening within you, you gain a sense of control because you can begin to separate yourself from it, or at least see that it isn’t you, it’s just a feeling.  You will find that you feel better because giving a voice to your feelings allows you to relax and release some of the tension and powerlessness associated with negative emotions.

To create the life you desire, you’ve got to care about how you feel and you’ve got to find a way to feel good.  Your emotions are there to guide your thoughts...so pay attention!  When you are connected to and aware of your emotions, you can create the life you want to live.

An exercise to help you become more aware of your emotions:

Set an alarm every 3 hours to make you stop and write down exactly what your emotion is in the moment.  Notice what it feels like in your body.  Do this every day for a week, and by the end of the week you will have developed a lot more emotional awareness.

Gotta give it up.

Recently I was working on a painting of a sunset.  I envisioned myself creating something incredibly beautiful and moving.  But I ended up hating it, so I decided to give up trying to make it perfect.  I blended all the colors together, let go of the final outcome, and enjoyed the process of painting.  All of a sudden, I had created the sunset that I dreamed of.  It wasnt until I gave up the struggle, my fear of failure, and my attachment to the end result that I actually was able to achieve what I wanted.

Give up the struggle, the doubt, and the negative self-talk.  Let go of the fear that you’re not good enough or that you might fail.  So what?  Ask yourself, what’s the worst thing that could happen?  Sometimes we have to let ourselves "go there" by briefly picturing the worst case scenario so that we can then release the fear and have the courage to move forward and follow our heart.  Just make sure that you don’t continue to picture unhappy outcomes since you are creating your life experiences through your thoughts and your mood.

Give up your fear of failure and allow yourself to make mistakes.  We grow and expand by trying and learning from our successes as well as our failures.  It’s all part of the process of learning and defining who you are and what you want.  So give yourself a break.  It’s ok to fall down.  We didn’t learn to walk without falling down.  It is ok to fail.  If you’re too afraid to make a mistake you won’t take any risks.  And without risks you can’t grow.  If you don’t take any risks you may never have to fail, but you may have regret.

Hold onto your dreams, but give up worrying about all of the tiny details.  Continue to hold the image and feeling of your desires in your mind and allow the universe to guide you by taking action when you feel inspired.  Instead of stressing yourself out by working overtime to figure everything out and do it all yourself, let the universe surprise you by delivering what you need at the perfect time.  Let go and allow some things to take care of themselves.  You can’t always control everything.  The only thing you can control is your attitude and your state of mind.  You can choose how to view your life and your experiences.  Say to yourself, “I trust that everything is always working out for me".

Let go of trying to control how everybody sees you.  People will see what they want to see.  Give up the idea that you need everyone to like you.  It’s exhausting.  You can control your actions, but you cannot control the reactions of others.  Just be the best person you can and stop worrying about how everyone else is perceiving you.

Give up past memories that don’t make you feel good.  Holding on to past mistakes or unhappy experiences stops us from moving forward.  Acknowledge any mistakes and what you’ve learned from them and then let them go.  When we experience suffering, we usually gain a clearer vision of what we want.  Turn your attention to where you're going and what you want, and let go of where you've been.  Take time to notice and appreciate what is going well presently in your life.  Choose to focus on the things that are important to you today, and move forward by concentrating on what you now want to be or do or have.

Affirmations for letting in what you want and letting go of what you don't:

“I am letting go of anything that is not serving me and that I no longer need to be holding on to.”

“I am releasing myself from my past.  I am free and clear.”

“I am dissolving all barriers including my negative self-images and attitudes.”

"I am free to expand and enjoy the fullness of my life."

Bringing out the best.

"You have the option of making a good-feeling aspect of another person dominant in your Vibration or of making a bad-feeling aspect dominant, and whatever aspect you regularly choose will become the Vibrational basis of your relationship.  In simple terms, the experience that you have with others is about what you evoke from them.” —Abraham-Hicks

Our relationships with others reflect the aspects that we give our attention to.  Set an intention for which qualities you want to bring out in your relationships with the people in your life.  Focus on the things you like, points of harmony, and commonalities.  Give very little attention to what you are not agreeing on and give more attention to things that you do agree on.  Abraham-Hicks says that the trouble with most relationships is that we pick out the one or two little things we don’t like and give those most of our attention.  The focusing of our attention on a subject causes the Law of Attraction to continue to attract more of whatever it is we’re giving our attention to.

If you’re in a romantic relationship and you want it to be better in some way, think of all the positive aspects about the relationship and the other person.  When you catch yourself focusing on a negative aspect, switch your focus by reminding yourself of the things you like and appreciate about your relationship and your partner.  People are complex and everyone has a mix of both positive and negative qualities.  If you want to be happy in a relationship, then take notice of the positive aspects as often as you can.

If you’re looking for a romantic relationship, think about what you want in a relationship and why you want it.  Take notice of the positive qualities that you see in other people -whether it’s a date, a friend, or anyone you meet.  When we are looking for a relationship, we often point out the things we don’t like in the people we date.  It’s fine not to go out with that person again if you’re not interested, but it’s still important to focus on the things you enjoyed about them so that you’ll continue to attract people who embody the characteristics you like.  Speak about the qualities that you want in a partner and a relationship, not about the things you don’t want.

Your relationship with yourself affects all of your other relationships.  If you want a loving relationship with another, you have to cultivate a loving relationship with yourself.  You cannot focus on the positive qualities in others when you’re criticizing yourself.  Let’s start spending more time noticing things we like instead of things we dislike about ourselves and others.  We get what we give our attention to whether we want it or not, so lets start giving it to the things we like!

Affirmations for bringing out the best in ourselves and others:

“I am seeing and focusing on the positive qualities in others as well as in myself."

“I am noticing and appreciating the successes and accomplishments of others as well as my own."

“I am choosing to focus my attention on what I wish to experience in my relationships with others."

“I am aware that the experience that I have with others is about what I evoke from them."

The end or the beginning?

“Some changes look negative on the surface but you will soon realize that space is being created in your life for something new to emerge.”--Eckhart Tolle

My mom always said that when things are falling apart they are coming together in a new way.  We are in a state of constant change.  Our environment, the cells of our bodies, our thoughts, and our lives are ever evolving.  Often, when we think something is ending it’s really the beginning of something else.  We can choose to focus on the ending part or we can direct our thoughts to what’s next, or what we’d like to be next….if we don’t yet know what that is.

Don’t let any place that you are standing in frighten you.  It’s just temporary and it’s just giving you an idea of what you’ve been doing with your energy or vibration -meaning how you’ve been feeling and what thoughts you’ve been thinking.  There’s always a way out if you will allow a solution to come to you by choosing a positive perspective rather than a lack perspective.  Stay positive by choosing thoughts that feel good such as, “Everything is coming at the perfect time and in perfect order.  Everything is unfolding perfectly.  I’m okay where I am and I’m eager for more.  It’s all happening for me at the right time.  Things are aways working out for me".

Change doesn’t have to be scary or traumatic.  It’s just our fear of the unknown that makes change seem scary.  Trust that there is a bigger picture.  You may not be able to see the whole thing yet, but it will reveal itself as you go.  If you will relax and go with the flow, you will see that things are always working out for you, for your highest good, and for the good of others around you too.

If you find yourself in a situation where you feel like there are no options available to you or you’re feeling overwhelmed or trapped, then try this box exercise.  It’s a great way to improve your outlook by shifting your thoughts into a more positive place.

Box Exercise:  Imagine yourself inside of a dark box.  Now begin to imagine that you are creating some big, bright, beautiful windows that make you feel free and comfortable and expansive.  Notice there is light streaming in all around you.  Now imagine as many doors as you like so that you can easily come and go.  Open all the doors and leave them wide open so your box feels open and airy and full of light and opportunity.  The doors represent all the new opportunities that are now arising and allowing you to move in lots of different directions with as many paths as you choose.  There is not just one right path.  There are many right paths.  You are free and have new possibilities.  You no longer have to feel confined or trapped.  Say to yourself, "I am always expanding.  I’m okay where I am, and I'm so excited about what's coming.  I am open to new possibilities, and new opportunities are arising!”

Abraham-Hicks says the best way to accomplish an improved environment is to focus upon the best things about where you currently are so that you move into a state of appreciation.  Make little mental lists of things you appreciate throughout the day so that you continue flowing good-feeling energy toward what is working in your life…which will then attract more positive things into your life.

What if....?

Fantasizing is fun.  It’s also worthwhile since what we think about affects what shows up in our experience.  It’s very important that we take pleasure in daydreaming by entertaining good feeling scenarios.  Sometimes we play the negative what if game by thinking, “What if I lose my job and I lose my house?  What if there’s an earthquake and everyone I care about dies?  What if I get some terrible disease?"  The list of unfortunate events that we allow ourselves to entertain goes on.  This is not only a waste of our ability to imagine, but also detrimental to our health and happiness.

Let’s start playing the what if game in a positive way by playing it for fun and fantasizing about happy events.  Start asking yourself, "What if I won the lottery today?  What if I got that dream job or promotion?  What if I had the relationship of my dreams?  What if there were enough resources for everyone?  What if….”  Allow yourself to daydream about what you would be doing if you had that money or relationship or lifestyle or whatever it is you’ve chosen to play with.  As you go through your day, make mental notes of activities you’d be doing or places you’d be visiting or things you’d be buying.  Allow yourself to imagine different ways you’d be spending your time and money.  Just for fun.  Imagine it for a few seconds (or minutes if you’re really enjoying certain scenarios)  Feel that elation and excitement and freedom that you would feel as if it were actually happening.

Don’t allow yourself to feel bad because you’re dreaming about things that you don’t have.  The whole point of this game is to feel good.  It doesn’t matter that it’s not actually happening in your physical reality at the moment. You can still find joy in the imagining of it happening.  Everything that we see in our reality was first imagined.  Everything was first thought before it was form.  Imagine it for the pure sake of enjoyment, for the pure pleasure that it brings you to imagine.

If you have a hard time envisioning things then practice your visualization skills by doing this:  Close your eyes and imagine you are eating a lemon and notice how it makes your lips pucker.  You can almost taste the sourness of it!  Now imagine you’re holding an apple.  Feel it, see it, smell it, taste it.  Imagine a rose by seeing its soft red petals and feeling the sharpness of the thorns on its stem.  Inhale its sweet fragrance.  Or you can try looking at something before you close your eyes.  Choose an object such as a candle.  Study it by staring at it for a few moments and then close your eyes and try to recreate its exact image in your mind.

Find pleasure in your ability to daydream.  The more you practice imagining good feeling scenarios, the more positive and expectant you will feel about life.  And many of the images you conger in your imagination may actually begin showing up in your physical reality....So let's start playing!

Affirmations for positive imagination:

"I am taking pleasure in my ability to imagine and daydream."

“I am limitless in my thinking and I am allowing myself to dream as big as I want."

"I am enjoying imagining a life full of abundance, success, and happiness."

Visualization is powerful.

“Creative visualization is real. It’s a powerful force that works to shape future outcomes.”  --Harvard Medical School

Sometimes we need to see it before we can believe it.  One way to see it before it is a reality in your physical experience is to create a vision board.  When you see images of what you desire, you can imagine having what you want more clearly.  It’s a powerful visualization tool because it reminds you to focus upon what you want to create in your life rather than on what might be lacking at the moment.

When it comes to visualization, we have complete freedom to dream anything we want for ourselves.  Many people lose sight of what they want because they get so caught up in what other people want or what they don’t have.  Their vision for their future becomes tainted by their present “reality” and becomes limited by their limiting beliefs about what they think they can attain.  Your beliefs can be like fences that surround you and cage you in.  Let go of beliefs that limit you or don’t support the vision you have for yourself.  Let yourself indulge in unlimited thinking and expand your imagination of what is possible for you to have.  If you have the ability to imagine it, the universe has the ability to deliver it.  It is only your beliefs that can stop you from realizing your dreams.  You have to reprogram your brain with new beliefs about yourself and your life.  A belief is just a thought you’ve practiced or a continued way a of thinking.  It is not a fact, it is an opinion.

"Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in the world they’ve been given than to explore the power they have to change it.  Impossible is not a fact.  It’s an opinion.  Impossible is not a declaration.  It’s a dare.  Impossible is potential.  Impossible is temporary.  Impossible is nothing.”  --Muhammad Ali

A vision board can help you to practice more positive and unlimited thinking and can help you to create new beliefs about yourself and your life.  Your vision board can be anything you want it to be.  You can put images, words, affirmations, or whatever symbols you like that help you envision your dreams.  The most important thing is that it makes you feel good when you look at it.  Put your vision board somewhere where you can see it regularly and spend a few minutes each day daydreaming about the life you want to create as you gaze at it.

Tell yourself, “Everything is happening at the right time and everything is unfolding perfectly for me”.  Do not lose hope or your conviction that your dreams will manifest just because you have yet to see the physical evidence of their creation.  Everything that exists first began with thought.  So much of success is about timing.  You can’t force it.  It has to happen at the right time.  Let it unfold.  Follow your instincts.  Trust yourself, trust your vision, trust the universe.  Stay focused on your dreams and keep envisioning yourself living out your fantasies.

Affirmations for allowing your dreams to become your reality:

“I am focusing on aspects of my life that I like and that feel good to me when I think about them.”

“I am allowing myself to indulge in unlimited thinking and to imagine my life the way that I want it to be.”

“I am enjoying envisioning a fun, beautiful, joyful, abundant future for myself.”

“I am expanding my beliefs about what is possible for me to have.  I am creating all that I desire.”

Gut Reactions.

Have you ever had to make a choice and you really weren’t sure which one to choose?  When we have multiple options or actions we could take, it can sometimes be confusing to know what to do.  In order to make the best choice for yourself, you need to first identify what is most important to you.  When you know what you want most, it is easier to use your emotions to guide you.

Your emotions tell you how you truly feel about something.  Often, we try to rationalize our decisions with language, but that usually just confuses us more.  We weigh the pros and cons and try to talk ourselves into this or that choice.  But doing that just makes everything harder than it needs to be.  Trust your intuition, trust your gut reaction.  You don’t have to rationalize everything with your brain.  Use your brain to carry out the action once you have made your decision, but listen to the guidance from your intuition.

Before you make a decision, try to imagine yourself following through with one of your options and notice how you feel while you are picturing yourself choosing that option.  Does it feel good?  Exciting?  Is there positive emotion or do you feel negative emotion such as fear, worry, regret or discomfort?  If you have two or more choices, then envision yourself choosing one choice and notice how you feel, and then envision the other choice and see how you feel.  The way that you feel tells you if you are making the best decision for yourself.  When you feel positive emotion, you are making a choice that is in line with what you truly want.

Another intuitive method is to imagine you’re holding one choice in your right hand and the other in your left.  Close your eyes and ask your intuition to guide you to making the best choice by raising one hand.  If you want to use language, ask yourself some questions such as:  Which decision seems to call to me the most or holds the most joy for me?  Which choice seems best for me to follow right now?  Which choice allows me to express myself most fully?  Choose the option that brings you the most joy.  Don’t make choices based on how much money it appears you will make.  Following the path of joy will always bring you more abundance down the road.

If you are really torn and neither choice seems right then try to wait a little longer.  Try not to force a decision if you’re not ready to make it.  Marinate on it for a while and then come back to it.  Do not make a decision based on how you think others will react.  You have to put yourself and your desires first or you will never be happy.  You cannot control the reactions or the satisfaction of others.  But you do need to take responsbiltlity for your own happiness.

Nobody else can know what is right for you.  Only you can know that.  Don’t judge yourself for what you want and don’t second guess your decision after you make it.  You will only torture yourself.  If you made your choice from an intuitive place or a place of positive emotion, then it was the right one.  Have faith by trusting that things will work out, and you will always be moving forward toward what you want.

Affirmations for aligned decision making:
“I am enjoying making decisions and choices for myself.”
“I am easily and always making choices that bring me the most joy and prosperity."
“I am happy knowing that I have plenty of time for everything that I want to do and experience.“
"I am always being guided by my intuition, and I am always in the right place at the right time.”

Figuring out what you want.

Figuring out what we want is sometimes the hardest part.  How can we create what we want if we don’t even know what that is?  We might know what we don’t want, but how do we figure out what we do want so that we can begin imaging and creating it?

Go general.  You don’t have to know exactly what type of partner you’re looking for or what your ideal career path is.  Maybe you like to be outside or work with your hands.  Or maybe you prefer to be in an office.  Do you enjoy working with people or do prefer to work alone?  Do you like to write?  Do you like cars or technology or helping others?  Are you into having control over your schedule or you prefer to have a set schedule?  Do you want to be in a relationship with someone with similar interests and values?  Someone who you can have fun with and be at ease with?  Someone you are excited to see and spend time with?  Asking yourself these types of general questions can help you get a sense of what you’re looking for and imagine what would make you happy.

Focus on the aspects you like about life.  And continue to take notice of things you like about yourself, others, and experiences that you have.  We are often so judgmental and focused on what is wrong that we forget to pay attention to what we do like.  Making an effort to appreciate positive aspects on a regular basis keeps your mind focused on what you like which attracts more enjoyable things into your experience.

You don’t have to figure out all the details yourself.  You don’t have to know how all of the things that you enjoy will factor into your experience.  The universe remembers everything and will orchestrate it perfectly so don’t worry about trying to keep track of everything you want.  Just make an effort to notice what you like.  When you notice something you don’t like, realize that it’s helping you to define more clearly what you do want and then switch your focus to the positive.  Get off the topics of the things that don’t please you as quickly as you can.

Set your intention.  If you don’t know what you want, then set forth the intention “I want to know what I want”.  As you set forth your desire to know what you want, you will begin attracting ideas, information, and opportunities that will start giving you a more clear vision of what you specifically want.  Take action if you are inspired to do so.  But also be patient.  Know that the universe heard your request and that it’s already taking care of it.  Things may not happen immediately or all at once so resist the urge to take score too soon.  Relax and let them unfold for you in the perfect way.

It is your right to choose.  It’s not just your right, it's your responsibility.  If you don’t make conscious decisions about the life you want to live, then you will just observe things as they are and create by default because Law of Attraction will continue to bring more of the same.  You will be an observer of what others have chosen instead of the conscious creator of your life.  It's easier to just observe things as they are instead of choosing to imagine and speak about how you want them to be.  But it is so much more satisfying to make a choice, believe that you will create what you want, and then watch it manifest into your reality.

Once you have an idea of what you want, it is important to be detailed enough in your desire that thinking about it feels good to you, but not so detailed that it feels overwhelming or negative in some way.  Remember, your work is to figure out what you like and want enough to feel positive emotion when you focus upon it.

Affirmations for knowing what you want:

“I am noticing what I like and appreciating positive aspects everywhere I go.”

“I am enjoying paying attention to things that I like and creating more things in my life to enjoy.”

“I love knowing what I want and I am loving the process of figuring it out.”

"I am becoming clearer about my life path.  I am creating a blueprint of my life."

Creating (the illusion of) more time.

Time is an illusion in that it's based upon your perception.  Because of the environment that we live in, and coupled with the fact that we are often not living in the moment and being present in what we are doing, time usually feels very quick and limited.  One way to slow down time, or to be more present in your life and experience it more fully, is to focus on particular portions of your day.  By paying attention to specific parts of your day and setting an intention for what you want from that experience, you become more aware of the present moment many times throughout your day.  This helps to not only focus our mind in the present, but also helps us to clarify and create what we want from each experience.

Whenever you realize you are moving into a new portion of your day, pause for a moment and either think to yourself or say out loud what you want most for that period of time or from that particular experience.  The point of this is to give your attention to what you want so that you draw power to it.  When you focus specifically on what you most want in the moment, you gain clarity, power, and speed.  Knowing and stating your intent will cause the Law of Attraction to bring circumstances, thoughts, events, people, and conversations that coincide with what you are wanting from each experience.

Some examples of focusing and setting intentions for specific parts of your day are:

When you are lying in bed, before you go to sleep set your intention for a good night’s sleep by thinking to yourself, “It is my intention for my body to completely relax so that my cells can rejuvenate and my mind can rest.  I want to awaken at the proper time rested, refreshed, and ready to begin my day".

When you wake up in the morning, set your intention for a good mood by saying, “I am intending to become excited and exhilarated about this day.  This is going to be a wonderful day for me”, and imagine your day running smoothly.

When you are getting ready, let your intention be to be as efficient as possible in grooming yourself and appreciating your body for the way that it functions.  As you eat your breakfast, let your intention be to enjoy your food and allow your body to process it perfectly saying, "I will be nourished and replenished by this food".

When you leave your house or get into your car to go somewhere, set your intention for a safe and easy trip by seeing yourself arriving on time to your destination.  Say to yourself, “I am intending to arrive at my destination swiftly and safely.”  Once you arrive at your destination, imagine yourself feeling good as you are walking in smiling and greeting others.

As you continue to practice setting intentions for your life experience on a regular basis, you will begin to feel more and more in control of your life, your mood, and your time.  You will feel stronger, calmer, and happier because you will be gaining clarity about what you want to experience and experiencing more of your life, rather than zoning out or being on auto pilot and just creating more of the same.  Setting a positive expectation or intention helps deliver positive outcomes and helps you define what you want for yourself in many moments of your daily life.

What’s your story?

"The vision that you glorify in your mind, the ideal that you enthrone in your heart -this you will build your life by, and this you will become.” — James Allen

A great way to shift your thinking into a more positive and expectant state is to write your story or your life “script".  Writing down and imagining that you have the life that you want helps it to feel more like a reality.  Paint a picture of your life as you would like it to be with enough details that you can see it in your mind, but not too many details that it feels unattainable.

Telling your story should feel good to you when you tell it.  Talk about your life in a positive light, as though things are going well for you and you are excited about your future.  Pretend that it is a few years from now and you are reflecting back on all your accomplishments.  What did you accomplish?  What does your life look like?  How do you spend your time?  What do you hope for yourself?

Talk about the parts of your life that you like and speak as though everything else is getting better and better.  Leave out and ignore the aspects of your life that you don’t like.  Imagine they have already disappeared or transformed into something better.  This will likely feel like you’re writing a fictional story, but it’s not meant to be a factual documentary.  Telling it like it is only perpetuates how it is, so if you want your life to improve, you’ve got to tell an improved story.  A different story will bring different results.

A major part of this is feeling good as you imagine and tell your story.  Use your imagination to see yourself in the third person as if you were watching yourself in a movie of your life.  Choose the type of environment you want to live in, work in, socialize in.  See yourself as confident, prosperous, and in love with life.  Now be in your body as if you were there in that future space, and feel how happy, satisfied, and proud you would feel of the life that you've created for yourself.

To create the life that you want, it’s important to ask yourself what is it that you want?  If you could have the type of life that you desire, what would that actually look like.  Describe yourself in the first person.  Talk about where you are living (In a house or an apartment? In the city or the country?)  Describe your state of mind (Are you joyful, peaceful, vibrant, relaxed?)  Talk about how you have plenty of time and money to do the things you like to do, and have lots of friends and social engagements.  Maybe you have a romantic partner that is everything you’ve been looking for and you are so happy and in love, or you’re having fun going on lots of dates with interesting people.  Include a wonderful, fulfilling career, as well as health, family, community --anything that is important to you.

You could write that, "Things are always working out for me, even better than I can imagine.  Life is good, life is abundant, life is fun.  I love my life.  I love envisioning my life the way that I want it to be.  I am excited for my future and for my life right now and it's only going to get better and better.”  There is no right or wrong way to tell your improved story.  Just remember that the story you tell is the basis of your life.  So tell it the way you want it to be.  And remember to read it to yourself often.

Affirmations to help you tell an improved story and create the life that you want:

“I am enjoying using my imagination and I create what I want easily and effortlessly”.

“I am choosing to remember all of my successes and accomplishments and I am letting go of any memories that are not serving me.”

“I am the creator of my reality, and I give myself permission to create all I want.”

“I am excited about my future and, at the same time, living happily in the present moment as I am falling more and more in love with my life."

Allow yourself to receive.

Life gives birth to desire.  It is our wanting that creates expansion.  We are here to focus our energy toward something.  Being able to create through thought, through our imagination, is a gift.  People die when they no longer want anything.  Without a reason to create, we lose our desire to keep living.  Life would not continue to evolve and new things would no longer be created without desire.  It is our desire for something better that creates new ways of doing things, traveling, and communicating with each other.  Without wanting, we wouldn’t have made the advances in technology that we’ve made.

When I use the word “want”, I am referring to a desire that I want to focus upon so that source energy can flow through me and bring it into my experience.  For some people, the word “want” has a negative connotation because they associate it with a feeling of discomfort.  They want but don’t believe they can attain their desire, and therefore it’s an uncomfortable yearning.  Some of us may remember wanting something in the past that we didn’t end up getting, and so we are discouraged immediately.  We may try to tell ourselves that we don’t really want it, but we can’t help wanting something.  It’s our fear that we won’t get what we want that makes wanting feel like too great of a risk.

It’s not the wanting that's the problem.  The problem lies in our getting upset that we don’t have it, and becoming so attached to our desire that we constantly worry we won’t get it, that we end up holding ourselves apart from it.  Our fear can be so strong, because we want it so badly, that we don’t allow it to manifest.  If we would just enjoy the process of wanting something, knowing that the universe heard our wish, we would get what we want.  Everything you want can and will be yours if you will relax and know that it’s coming instead of constantly worrying it won’t.  Do not use your immediate reality to tell you whether or not it is coming.  Trust and use your imagination to imagine you already have what you want.

Be satisfied where you are now and eager for more.  Appreciating where you are and what you’ve learned, while at the same time excitedly awaiting what’s coming next, puts you in the perfect place of allowing what you want to come.  Be specific but also general by not worrying too much about the details.  Think about what you want and why you want it.  Don’t worry about how, where, and when it’s going to come because that creates resistance and unease within you.  Hold onto the general feeling of what you want and trust that the universe is bringing it to you in the best possible way.

Affirmations for allowing what you want to come:

“I am enjoying the process of figuring out what I like and what I don’t like because it's helping me to create exactly what I want.”

“I am attracting my desires to me and I am excited when the evidence of their manifestation shows itself to me.”

“I am perfect where I am and I am moving toward something that will satisfy me even more.”

“I am right on track and everything is unfolding perfectly for me at the right time."

Good vibrations.

We live in a vibrational universe, and the Law of Attraction causes you to attract what you give out.  You rendevouz with circumstances and people who are sending out the same vibration as you.  How do you know what vibrational level you’re on?  When you are feeling good, you’re vibrating at a higher level then you are when you’re feeling bad.  Why is it important to raise our vibrational energy?  Because feeling good attracts more good and allows you to open the doors to receiving all that you are wanting.  When you feel bad, you are causing resistance and making it difficult for your desires to manifest into your experience.

The universe does not respond to your words or actions, it responds to your vibration.  You don’t have to speak any words about what you want.  The universe will still know exactly what you are wanting through your feelings.  And it will deliver…but you won’t attain it in your reality until you become a vibrational match to your desires.  That means, you have to find a way to feel good and feel that what you desire is already coming into your experience.  You’ve got to stop thinking about what you don’t want, what's bothering you, or why you don’t have what you want.  Instead, think only about what you want, what you like, and what it will feel like to have what you desire.  Then, what you want can come because that’s what you’re focused upon, and therefore you’re a vibrational match to it.  Don’t worry about what is “true” now because the “truth” will shift when you shift your vibration.

Your vibration will naturally rise as you release resistance.  Breathing releases resistance.  Yoga releases resistance.  Any form of relaxation will release resistance because it slows down your thoughts and allows you to stop thinking about whatever might be bothering you for a little while.  You’re in the moment and not worrying about the future or thinking about the past.  It’s worrying and criticizing yourself and others that causes you to create resistance and lowers your vibration.

Words can raise your vibration.  Saying positive words to yourself helps to put your mind in a more positive state, raises your energy, and shifts your thoughts to a higher level.  Choose words that feel good as you say them, and say them over and over.  Words like love, clarity, joy, prosperity, ease, rejuvenation, relaxation, allow, abundance, harmony, vitality have an uplifting affect.

So...raising your vibration is quite simple.  Feel good.  Say positive, uplifting words to yourself.  Look for things around you to appreciate.  Focus on all the good things in your life.  Notice the beauty in nature.  Breathe.  Keep your mind focused on what you want, not on what you don’t (yet) have.  And let it come to you!

Affirmations for raising your vibrational energy:

“I am releasing resistance and allowing my vibration to naturally rise so that I am vibrating on a higher level.”

“I am focusing only on what I want and what I like so that I attract only what I desire into my experience.”

“I am enjoying attracting people, circumstances, and events that are also on a high vibrational level.”

“I love understanding that I live in a vibrational universe and that I have complete control over my point of attraction."

Set yourself free.

“Freedom is not absence of commitment, but the ability to choose and commit myself

to – what is best for me.”  -Paulo Coelho

There is nothing more wonderful or important in life than freedom.  Not just physical freedom, but freedom of the mind.  I say this because you can be physically free, but you can’t experience true freedom if you are bound by limiting beliefs and the opinions of others.  Freedom comes when you acknowledge that you have the right to choose your thoughts and to change your perspective in every moment.

Freedom is the release of limitations.  Many of us put limitations on ourselves all the time without even realizing we’re doing it.  Allow yourself to see that we really do have free will because we have the ability to choose our thoughts.  You are free to decide what you want to imagine and dream about.  You get to choose how you view your life.  See it the way you want it to be, not the way other people tell you to see it.  Stop chaining yourself to the opinions and beliefs others have of you.  Choose for yourself which beliefs you will hold onto and which ones you will release.

Freedom is not about avoiding all responsibilities.  It’s about knowing what is important to you and choosing what to focus upon.  Freedom is listening to your intuition about what is right for you and making decisions based on how you feel.  Only you can know what is right or wrong for you.  Trust that you are making the right decisions and resist the urge to constantly second guess yourself.  Making a decision and believing in your choice is freeing and empowering.

Nobody can control your thoughts but you.  Set yourself free by taking control of your mind and paying attention to how you feel.  Decide that you want to feel good and then commit to choosing thoughts and beliefs that make you feel good.  You always have a choice.

Affirmations for creating feelings of freedom and expansion:

“I am making the right decisions for my highest and greatest good.  I am confident in the choices that I make.”

“I am free to see myself the way I want to.  I see myself as a strong and powerful creator.”

“I am freeing myself of the beliefs and opinions of others.  I am free to live my life the way that I want."

“I am happy to be alive and free.”

Expect the best. Period.

“Doubt is a virus that attacks our self-esteem, productivity and confidence.  Faith that you and your life are perfectly unfolding is the strongest vaccine.” -Sean Stephenson

Trust is expecting the best to happen, believing in your ability to create what you want, and knowing that you deserve to have it.  Trust is the link between your mental world and your physical world.  Realize that your dreams are already real on the mental plane, they are just waiting for the perfect time to appear in your physical reality.

Hope is wanting something, but not really believing that it will come.  It’s doubting yourself and your power.  There is a sense of fear and a lack of trust that things will work out.  It’s your fear and thoughts of your desires not manifesting that keep them from becoming your physical reality.

I thoroughly dislike the saying, “Hope for the best, but plan for the worst.”  There is no trust in that statement.  There is pessimism and a belief that things don’t usually work out in your favor.  That the universe is somehow against you.  It is your choice to see things that way.  If you believe it is so, than it is so.  If you believe the universe has your back and that everything is working out for your highest good, than that is the reality you will experience.

I think where many of us get caught up is the timing.  We think that because what we want hasn’t manifested right away or by a certain point in our lives, that things aren’t working out for us and the universe is failing us somehow.  We think what we really want isn’t coming coming, so we settle for something we don’t really want because it’s better than nothing.

Slow down.  Enjoy the steps along the way.  See the bigger picture.

Everything you want is coming, but it’s coming at the perfect time.  It may take longer than you expect because you may still be developing in some areas of your life.  Trust that the time delay is actually right on track and is enabling you to be fully ready when your desire does manifest.  Trust in the intelligence of the universe.  Trust your higher self to bring you the right things at the right time.  Tell yourself, “All is coming."

Affirmations for building a sense of trust:

“I trust that everything comes at the perfect time and in the perfect way.”

“I trust in my ever increasing ability to create all that I need and want in my life.”

“I am ready and open to receive all that I ask for, and I know that it is on its way to me now.”

“I am allowing everything in my life to unfold perfectly."

What is success?

"To believe in yourself and to follow your dreams, to have goals in life and a drive to succeed, and to surround yourself with the things and the people that make you happy- this is success!” -Sasha Azevedo

We all want to feel and be successful, but I think many of us make the mistake of judging our success by how much money we have or what job title we hold.  We compare ourselves to others and discount our own personal growth and level of happiness.  True success is having the right amount of money, transforming an old habit or negative belief, releasing a fear, doing things you love, and developing and recognizing your unique strengths.  Success is creating something when you need it, making a contribution to others, and loving and respecting yourself and others.  It is growing and learning from all of your experiences.

Everything that you have learned and all of your skills and experiences are sources of future income and are part of your net worth.  Feel successful now by recognizing all of the wonderful things you have experienced, learned, and accomplished.  Learn to appreciate yourself and your successes, even the small ones, for as you acknowledge them you will build upon them.  Whatever you pay attention to grows and increases.  Paying attention to your past accomplishments and successes allows you to create successful, positive experiences in the future.

Do not feel jealous or threatened by others who are successful.  Begin now to believe that everyone’s success means even more success for you.  It is not wrong to feel competitive at your job if it helps you do your best.  But don’t feel that others who succeed in what you are doing can take away from your success.  There is an unlimited supply of success, and everyone can be successful if they would allow themselves to believe it is possible for them.

As you begin to feel and become successful, challenge yourself to ask for more.  Indulge in unlimited thinking and expand your imagination of what is possible for you to have.  Keep opening to even more.  Trust that as more comes in you will develop new structures and ways to handle it.  Don’t worry about the details of bigger success, just enjoy allowing yourself to dream.  Picture yourself and everyone around you as successful, abundant, and happy.  There is more than enough for all of us.

Affirmations for creating a positive, successful state of mind:

“I am successful in all areas of my life, and I am allowing myself to feel successful now.”

“I am increasing my value and net worth by everything that I do.”

“I am always speaking of success and prosperity.  My words uplift and inspire others."

“I am allowing myself to have even more than I ever dreamed possible.”

“I believe in success and abundance for myself and others, and I know there is more than enough for everyone.”

It’s about the journey, not the destination.

Dreaming about and imagining something you desire, or aspire to be, is quite fun when you believe it is attainable.  Sometimes visualizing having what you desire can be just as fun as actually having it.  Of course, it is wonderful to obtain the very thing you’ve been wanting...but then what?  What’s next?  Life is constantly inspiring us to ask ourselves, “What is the next thing I want to have, or do, or be?"

Many of us have been taught to work hard and to struggle our way through life, but what is the point of getting somewhere if you are miserable the whole time while you are getting there?  Abraham-Hicks says that the whole reason we are here, our purpose for life, is joy.  If you are not enjoying, imagining, and creating your life experience, then you are not living the life you are meant to live.

This is something that is really changing the way that I view my life.  I used to think that I had to achieve my goals within my self-imposed timeframe for me to feel like I was leading a successful life.  Now I am realizing that all of that stress I put on myself for not being at a certain place in my life at a certain time was unnecessary and pointless.  I spent a lot of time worrying that I wouldn’t reach my goals, and I didn’t notice that everything was actually working out perfectly for me.  If I had relaxed just a little, by trusting in the universe that things would work out, and if I had enjoyed myself a little more while on the way to achieving my goals, I would have been a whole lot happier.

When you take a vacation, you take it for the fun, for the experiences along the way.  The destination is only the reason for the journey.  Life is the ultimate journey.  It’s forever full of inspirations, new ideas and experiences, and we will never get it done.  When we do achieve our dreams it is wonderful, but there are always new desires.  We never stop wanting because we never stop becoming.  Forget the idea that, once you have everything you want, then and only then, will you be happy.  You’re always going to want more, to become more, to continue evolving, so the journey never ends.  And that’s a good thing.

You are always reaching upward.  Even when things seem uncomfortable and dark, and the path may seem difficult and steep, don’t think you are off your path.  There will be challenging parts, and then areas where you are running, dancing, skipping, and traveling with ease.  Allow yourself to love and appreciate the bumpy road as well as the smooth parts, and thank yourself for the courage to keep going and reaching upward.

Affirmations for enjoying the journey of life:

"I am accepting and embracing where I’m at right now in my journey.”

“I am easily living in the moment and finding moments of happiness everyday.”

“I am enjoying myself along the way while I create and manifest my dreams.”

“I love and appreciate all parts of my journey and I am enjoying being inspired by new experiences.”

What is reality, really?

The Talmud says, "We do not see things as they are.  We see them as we are.”

We think that what we see is reality, but really it is our perception of reality….which isn’t actually real since we all have different perceptions.  What matters is what is real for you.  The only reality that exists is the one within your own mind.  You cannot live or see or experience outside of your own individual beliefs.

Beliefs are assumptions about reality, and because you create your experience through your beliefs, you will have many “proofs” that reality operates the way that you think it does.  We influence what we see.  We see what we think is the truth -in our daily experiences and interactions, in our relationships, in ourselves.  We even alter our past memories to reflect what we believe.  We choose to focus on good or bad experiences from our past to reinforce beliefs in our minds about ourselves or our lives.

So your reality really depends on what you are imagining for yourself and what you believe is possible for you.  This means you can change your reality.  You can change your beliefs.  You can choose to see things in a different way. You can choose different thoughts.  It’s not always easy, but you can do it.  And the more you practice, the easier it gets.  Our mind is really the only thing that we can control, and we do have the power to change it.

If you change the reality in your mind, you alter the reality that is your future.  And by future, I mean one hour from now, one day, one month, one year, because you are constantly creating and evolving your reality.  Stay positive and focused on the reality that you desire and want to create for yourself.

Affirmations for altering your beliefs about your reality:

“I am aware that I am creating my own reality through my thoughts, beliefs, and expectations.”

“I am changing my reality into that which I desire.”

"My outer reality is changing and evolving to match that of my inner reality which is my imagination.”

“I am attracting abundance, happiness, and success into all areas of my life.”

Act as if.

We’ve all been taught to tell the truth and to "tell it like it is”, but what if  “what is” isn’t what you want?  Things might not be going the way you want them to be and everything might not be as you would like at the moment, but telling the truth doesn’t mean you should be constantly complaining about all the s**t going on in your life.  Circumstances can change and quickly turn in your favor, so we need to try to maintain an optimistic view on life.  Unfortunately, being a pessimist is easier than being an optimist, so it can feel as though you are lying to yourself.  But talking about all the things going wrong just perpetuates them and draws more negativity into your life.

If everything is not ideal in your life, pretend that it is.  Pretend that you are already living the life that you want and see yourself as the person that you desire to be.  Act as if you already have the money to buy what you want.  Speak as if your life is changing for the better and things are working out in your favor.

These fantasies will likely feel like you are lying to yourself and denying the truth that you see in this moment, but that is a good thing.  You want to stop yourself from continuing to think and speak about what you don’t want.  You want to be acting as though you are already beginning to embody the person you want to be and living the life you want to live.

You’ve heard the saying “fake it till you make it”.  Sometimes you have to pretend to have the confidence you need to in order to succeed… until one day you realize you’re not pretending anymore.  You’ve become the person you were imagining yourself to be.

Affirmations to help you embody the person you desire to be:

“I give myself permission to be all that I can be."

“I invite and allow great things to come into my life."

“I expect only the best to happen and it does."

"I allow myself to have even more than I ever dreamed possible.”

Money and the flow of energy.

Money is a form of energy and it needs to flow.  It is meant to be spent.  It enriches society when it is flowing because the more you spend, the more people benefit.  Also, the more you feel good about sending out your money, the more magnet you become to receiving more.  Pay your bills with a generous feeling.  Paying bills, being generous, and spending money creates a circulation of energy in your life.

We are energy-flowing beings.  Start visualizing that money flows to you easily.  Use your imagination to make yourself more magnetic to money.  Instead of automatically thinking that you can’t afford something, let yourself daydream and envision what it would feel like if you had the money to buy what you want.  Picture in your mind what you would buy, and allow yourself to indulge in those feelings of success and prosperity.  Think of how much money you would like to see in your checking/savings account and imagine it as vividly as you can.  See your account balance as you would like it to be.  Envision yourself putting more money into your account.  Feel how happy you’d be doing that.

Do not waste your time and energy regretting money that you may have spent foolishly in the past.  It stops new money from coming into your life.  When you are angry about past circumstances rather than being present and open to more, it cuts you off from the energetic flow.  Money is money.  When you spend it, release it.  Don’t mentally or energetically tie yourself to your money.  Let go of the idea that money is hard to create, it’s not.  Instead of saying “how much money do I need?”,  say “how can I create money?”  Creating is magnetic to money, needing is not.

Start saying to yourself “I believe that money is meant to be enjoyed.  It is something that will contribute to my happiness and allow me to live more fully and enjoy the many luxuries life has to offer me.  My money will contribute to my higher purpose and will help me make a contribution to mankind.”  Think of being rich as having enough wealth to carry out your life’s work and to enjoy yourself.

Affirmations to help you enrich your feelings of prosperity and become more magnetic to money:

“All the money I spend enriches society and comes back to me multiplied.”

“I am financially prosperous.  I can easily afford to buy what I want and need."

"Money comes to me easily and effortlessly from all directions and all sources.”

“My savings act as a money magnet and draw more money to me.”

"Whatever the mind can conceive and believe, it can achieve.”

I’ve always loved this quote by Napoleon Hill because it reminds me that everything starts with thought.  We create through thought, through images in our minds.  Our imagination is the greatest gift we were ever given.  The secret to using it properly is to choose thoughts that make us feel good and are in line with what we want to create.

How often do you entertain upsetting scenarios in your mind?  Instead, we should be picturing in our minds what we WANT to happen.  We have more power over our lives than we think.  We have power over our minds.  We are not at the mercy of our thoughts.  We have free will and can choose which thoughts and visions to entertain.

In every moment we are creating our lives.  We need to learn how to properly use our imagination to create the life experiences that we want.  Why would you use your imagination to imagine things that you don’t want to happen?  Why would you place your attention on what you don’t want?  Place it on what you want!  Forget about limitations.  There aren’t any.  We create the limitations in our minds.  If you don’t believe something is possible for you, it isn’t.  Get clear about what you want and ask yourself why you don’t think you can have it.  Then change your belief so that you do feel you deserve what you want.  There is no reason why you cannot have the life that you desire.  As long as you can create it in your mind, it can become your reality.

Affirmations to help you believe in yourself and your ability to create what you want:

“I give myself permission to be all that I can be.”

“I follow my heart.  I can have what I want.”

“I commit to my path.  I choose aliveness and growth.”

“I allow myself to think and dream in unlimited ways.”
